The neonatal intensive care unit has private rooms. Each room will have equipment required for your baby’s condition, which could include a radiant warmer, ventilator, IV pump, and monitor to look at heart rate, breathing and oxygen levels. \
\
Private rooms have space for the family to stay in the room, including a bathroom with a shower. \
\
The NICU team will provide opportunities for you to bond and participate in your baby’s care \

It is one of only a few birthing centers located inside a pediatric hospital. \

Not all fetal conditions require delivery in our Special Delivery Unit. Your medical team will work with you to create a birth plan and recommend delivery locations that may be best for you and your baby. \

The operating rooms are specifically designed for everything from a standard cesarean delivery to the most complex fetal procedures, including open, fetoscopic and ex-utero intrapartum treatment (EXIT) procedures. \

The unique design and inclusion of surgical equipment, medical video equipment, voice activation and image management solutions enable our surgeons to operate with the highest level of efficiency and communication, ensuring the best possible outcome. \
\
The operating rooms are big enough for two operating teams, allowing us to perform surgery on both the mother and baby in the same location. Likewise, our collaborative team includes specialists who focus on the mother and baby during these procedures so that the needs of both are handled with equal care.

The unit is just down the hall from the Level IV newborn intensive care unit (NICU) and just 2 floors away from the cardiac intensive care unit (CICU). This keeps you close to your newborn and eliminates worries about transporting your tiniest loved one between hospitals.
